The first phase agreement in 2007 of the so called 'open-skies' policy, between the U.S. and the E.U., has greatly expanded the choice for those flying from the States to Europe and the increase in competition should also exert downward pressure on the cost of fares. Added to that, the growth of no frills airlines in Britain, and the opening up of small regional airports in France to commercial flights, means that flying conveniently and cheaply to different regions of France has never been easier.
There are now numerous combinations of indirect routes to France involving connecting flights from locations across the States and connecting flights in France to the different regions.
